Taos tepee

On the way to Taos during my New Mexico trip we saw a set of tepees along the side of the road. We were unable to get any information about them because they appeared to be on private property.
It's a rather simple piece but I'm happy with the composition.

Painted in 2003 this painting won first place in a local art show. The same room was used for my painting "contemplation".
Same room . . . . different mood.

I've been absent from my blog for a few weeks and although I don't regularly submit older works I wanted to give you all some eye candy and keep in touch.
I've been busy working on commissioned pieces and as soon as I am finished with those I'll be returning to posting on a weekly basis.

ghost ranch

This a view of the Ghost Ranch mountains in Abiquiu, New Mexico. I sat on the patio of our rental house looking at the view as I painted this piece. What an extraordinary place, and enchanting just as the license plates say in New Mexico.

For those of you who may have been watching my trip blog I apologize for not posting. My sister and I had a such a great week that we didn't make the time to keep up with the blog.
You can see a few of the photos I took which were uploaded on Flickr.com to get a feel of the place here.
I did paint a few pieces and returned home with many sketches and photos to use as references for future paintings.
