christmas gifts

    

We decided as a family that we'd make gifts for each other this year. Here are a couple of the gifts I made for my son and his wife in Arizona.
I was inspired by Sticks Furniture. I bought unfinished pieces and after drawing with pencil I woodburned the designs into the wood, and then stained it. Then I painted them with acrylic paint and finished up with about 6 layers of water-based polyurethane.
I made a game table for my other son including chess pieces made from sculpey clay and refinished my daughter's old pine toy chest. I'll be posting photos of them soon.
I had a blast!
Now back to painting.
